Four poster bed in early Tudor style. Handmade in solid oak and hand carved with linenfold headboard panels and parchemin panels to the tester ceiling, with four enriched parchemin panels at the centre. Other period features include Tudor cresting around the cornice rails, punched decoration to the headboard and tester framework and hand cut slow spiral twists to the four posts (this is a true four poster as the headboard is set in from the posts - see photos below).

There are two similar examples shown below, both personalised to our clients.

For our Sussex client (above and first two photos), we based the carved 'knops' on actual 16th century devices, as well as examples found in the architectural joinery and stonework of their manor house. 

Panelled headboard, with an early style of hand carved linenfold, where the folds hang right down to the ground, with a formalised decorative edging just to the uppermost part of the top panels.

Our Belgium clients (read their special story here) wanted falconry devices carved onto the square 'knops' on all four posts and supplied us with a number of photos from books and delft tiles, to design from.
