This scheme was launched some years ago to support and promote reliable retailers and increase consumer protection by providing a list of approved traders. We are proud to be be one of these.

As part of the acceptance procedure, we have been checked by officials from our Local Councils Trading Standards Service, to ensure we operate within the law. This involves a lengthy and rigorous audit at our premises, covering a number of checks, including:

• Random checks to ensure our testimonials are bona-fida
• How we go about dealing with customers
• Our contract terms and guarantees
• Public/employer liability insurance
• Licensing
• Business correspondence, quotes etc
• Our supplier details
• Advertising
• Deposits

In addition, checks will have been made on our personal and business history including:

• Any County Court Judgements
• Criminal Convictions (CRB checks and appropriate certificates obtained)

• London Gazzette Search
• Disqualified Directors Search
• Membership of any claimed trade associations or professional bodies
• Trading Standards Service's own database of enquiries
  

Furthermore, Trading Standards officials have also picked out 10 of our previous clients, at random, and contacted them direct, for first hand feedback as to our standard of service, integrity and product value. And it doesn't stop there. Having been accepted into the scheme, we are continually monitored by way of customer feedback sent direct to Trading Standards.
