A close up view of a typical piece of kiln dried character grade oak (Quercus robur), we use for our Chalvington range bespoke furniture. In this case, the side of the plate rack on our Montgomeryshire (Welsh) high potboard dresser. Not all character boards are this 'wild' and we will take a lot of trouble to select a balanced variety for your furniture, as well as allocate each piece correctly, for the best possible effect.
