Extending Tables
Extending tables from our custom made reproduction dining tables ranges. Includes drawerleaf and drop-in-leaf options, to create versatile extendable oak dining tables, particularly useful where you have regular fluctuations in seating requirements. Most of these examples can increase the number of sitters by four.
Drawerleaf tables were developed in the 16th century and are a very clever way of increasing seating capacity without altering the height of the table. When not in use, the leaves tuck neatly under the main top.
Another very useful and beautiful table is our Wilmington bespoke circular extending dining table (first one below), which we now have on display in our showroom. As a round table it seats between 6 and 8 people and when fully extended seats between 8 and 12. The loose leaves are different widths so you have four variables in table length. Because it's custom made, we can make it smaller and up to 6ft in diameter. Why not call in to our showroom and let us demonstrate its versatility.
