Chalvington range bespoke oak reproduction furniture

Our Chalvington range is manufactured as bespoke furniture. In other words, the piece will be made solely for you, so the design and style can be fine-tuned to your exact specification. It's probably no surprise that around 70% of our clients make use of this benefit, often at the same, or close to, our standard price. Aside from the aforementioned, the other advantage is that we can make your furniture in component form, so each section can be carried easily to the designated room, via tricky doorways and staircases, and assembled in situ.

By default, furniture from this range is made from full character grade oak, so expect to see surface checks (hairline splits), large knots, pippy knots, a wild grain and the odd crack here and there. Similar to many three hundred year old antiques! Note that the amount of knots, grain pattern, surface checks and number of cracks, is impossible to quantify exactly, from piece to piece. No two oak trees are the same, so it does depend on the oak boards we have in stock at the time.

Should you require a more ‘milder’ look, just let us know when ordering and we will select ‘cleaner’ oak for the purpose. Note that completely clean, straight grained, oak may have to be specially ordered in at additional cost.

You have a choice of standard colour and ageing options, all included in the quoted prices. If you are able to loan us a piece of your existing furniture, we can also colour match. There may be a small additional charge for this.
