15th Century Style Oak Chest in Country Manor House

Our bespoke 15th century style oak clamped front chest, shown here in our clients beautiful old stone built country manor house. We also made the early Tudor style linenfold carved four poster bed and both pieces were originally designed by our managing director, Nicholas Berry. The oak chest was custom made to store the metal window shutters, when not in use. We had to make sure the chest and the bed could be manoeurvered up a fairly tight oak spiral staircase. In the case of the bed, it has to dismantle down into smaller than normal components and, for the chest, we made a mock up, to test it would go up the stairs ok.
