16th century style linenfold bed panelling, as featured on the headboard of our Chalvington bespoke oak 4 poster bed. This particular design mimics expensive fabric hangings of the Tudor period. Early carvers studied how textiles hung (hence 'linenfold'), and quite possibly how parchment curled, and stylised this into their work. The small carved symbol on the top rail,  was incorporated after discovering the relevance to our client. Another personal touch!
