Click to View Products by CategoryDetail view of our clients 16th century style oak livery cupboard, showing the ogee shaped drawer fronts and period style waist moulding. Note that there are no drawer knobs or handles. This was common on many late medieval livery and court cup-boards (2 and 3-tier display pieces more commonly known as a buffet today). To pull the drawer out, you simply grasp the overhanging lower edge. The actual drawer box is shallow to: a) facilitate this, and b) so it can't be seen from the side when viewed through the open ogee arches.
