Bespoke bed, in an oak tester style, handmade from solid oak and similar to our Tester Bed Panelled, also featured in our Chalvington range. Shown here in 'Warm Chestnut' and medium aged. The original bed was re-designed for our client, who wanted a king size mattress, but found that the bed wouldn't fit in between the blank dormer returns in the ceiling. In order to get round this problem, we stepped the headboard in slightly and modified the footposts accordingly. You can see, in the detail photo below, how the top cornice of the tester just fits in between the two dormer returns. Price doesn't include mattress or bed coverings. We have an extensive range of period style fabrics at our Sussex showroom and can provide a making up service for mattress covers and bed hangings.
