Bespoke designed bed, in an oak 4-poster tester style, handmade from solid oak and similar to our Oak tester panelled C17th Jacobean style bed, also featured in our Chalvington range. Shown here in 'Warm Chestnut' and medium aged. The original bed was re-designed for our client, who wanted a king size mattress, but found that the bed wouldn't fit in between the blank dormer returns in the ceiling. In order to get round this problem, we stepped the headboard in slightly and modified the footposts accordingly. You can see, in the detail photo below, how the top cornice of the tester just fits in between the two dormer returns. As with all our bespoke Chalvington bedroom furniture, this bed can be made to any mattress size (see our Guide to Mattress Sizes) (also see drop down box below for prices based on king size and super king size). Price doesn't include mattress or bed coverings. We have an extensive range of period style fabrics at our Sussex showroom and can provide a making up service for mattress covers and bed hangings.
