C15th Bayleaf farmhouse and farmstead at Singleton museum

The Weald and Downland Museum, at Singleton, in West Sussex, has been developing the site surrounding the beautiful reconstructed Wealden Hall House, known as Bayleaf, since 1987. Using Medieval manuscript illustrations and early documents as detailed recorded evidence, the intention is to create, as close as possible, the farmstead setting as it may have been in the early 16th century.

The view here is just a small part of the 40 acre museum site, now home to around 50 carefully restored buildings ranging from the 13th to 19th century, including more period gardens, as well as lakes and even historic animal breeds.
