Middle Wicket

A similar colour and patination to Wash Back Antique, but slightly darker and redder. Some examples of early pieces of oak furniture are of a dark black-over-red shade (achieved by many different methods, such as Alkanet root and animal blood stain, varnished with copal resin and a later covering of opaque dark stain) and this option subtly hints at this antique surface colour. We have examples of this finish on actual pieces of furniture in our Sussex showroom.
