18th/19th century style boarded oak settle

An 18th/19th century style oak settle, of boarded construction (as opposed to framed and panelled), with planked back and typical wedge fixings. Settles  have been recorded in inventories as far back as the late 16th century and were usually of heavy construction, but later the trend moved to a more 'lighter' form, similar to the example shown here, which could even be of 19th century style. This is a bespoke piece from our Wilmington collection, so you can specify different lengths and height if need be, as well as colour and ageing.
