Tudor style heavily carved oak four poster bed, together with an earlier style clamped front chest, in the guest bedroom of our clients 13th century Sussex country manor house. Both were bespoke made, taking into account a very tight oak spiral staircase, leading up to this room. The bed had to dismantle into smaller components than we normally do and a softwood timber mock-up of the chest, was tested up the stairs, before commencement of construction.
