Handmade bespoke designed oak bed in 16th century farmhouse

A handmade bespoke designed period style oak 'pencil bed', in our clients heavily beamed and oak panelled Sussex farmhouse. We drew inspiration for the carving detail from various architectural carved elements, elsewhere in their home, which is situated down a narrow country lane, not far from our rural furniture showroom. The house itself was built around 1540 and is Grade 11 Listed. It is thought to be connected originally to the French family, who were prominent iron masters in the 16th century.
